Tuesday Happenings

-- MURS, a Los Angeles rapper and veteran of the legendary underground Log Cabin crew. His name is acronym for "Making Underground Raw Shit," and he's a standard-bearer for the sort of hip-hop that people used to call "backpack rap," but he's also capable of turning out a slow burning, weird-ass jam suitable for swerving. Performing with Chicago/New Jersey crew Kidz in the Hall who are incapable of spitting anything but fire these days. Paradise Rock Club, 967 Comm. Ave., 8 p.m. $12.

Throwbacks

-- It's an ice cream social, 1950s style. DJ Chris Devlin, of Spank Rock, and DJ E-Merce spin the music to which your parents got freaky; the venue serves vegan ice cream floats. Patty Duke was not invited, but you might get a discount if you bring your identical cousin. Great Scott, 1222 Comm. Ave., 9 p.m., $7.

Burlesque

-- With Boston's wealth of burlesque, you need a pretty good reason to catch a troupe from out of town. NYC's Pinchbottom Burlesque might offer one: A Halloween spectacle that combines love, monsters, and nudity. Boston boosters, don't feel bad: Co-founder Nasty Canasta is a native. The Beehive, 541 Tremont St., South End, 9:00pm. Free.

Masked Men

-- Los Straightjackets play surf music that's so authentic that it verges on the reverent. Well, as reverent as four guys in Mexican wrestling masks can verge. Performing with Laika and the Cosmonauts and the Alrighters, Church of Boston, 69 Kilmarnock St., 8 p..m. $12/$15.
