Saturday Happenings

noreaster.jpgVeggies

-- The Boston Vegetarian Food Festival is the opportunity to learn a little about the lifestyle and meet local and national vegetarian chefs and food packagers. Free samples abound and all the other food is cheap. Reggie Lewis Athletic Center, 1350 Tremont St., Roxbury. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free.

Movies

-- The Nor'Easter Film Festival unreels for the first time this afternoon. It's a showcase for New England area independent filmmakers (student or otherwise) to get some shine. Seven shorts today; fifteen tomorrow. Coolidge Corner Theatre, 290 Harvard St., Brookline, Noon to 3 p.m. (through Sunday). $10. (Full schedule.)

Faking the Glam

-- Halloween fever has gripped the Hub's bands, who will be incognito tonight, performing the music of their favorite glam band. From Roxy Music to Ziggy Stardust (and, okay, New Order to Velvet Underground, which are both only glam by association), all the boas are covered. TT the Bear's Place, 10 Brookline St., Cambridge, 9 p.m. $10.
