Here's a question: do you think professional athletes vote absentee or at the polls? We're imagining that Jason Varitek, for instance, probably goes absentee. Otherwise, he'd be hanging out at his local voting spot today, waiting for the line to move, fielding question after question about how things are going to go between Scott Boras and Theo Epstein when they finally sit down to start talking about whether our captain will remain a member of our team.
But wouldn't it be great to kill 45 minutes or so with a neighbor who just happens to be a professional athlete? We can totally see Mike Timlin or Tedy Bruschi taking it to the polls.
We hope the Celts took care of their civic duties early, as they're set to face down the Rockets in Houston tonight. We imagine it's got to be tough to be gearing up to play much of anything tonight, given how tempting it would be to just sit on the bench and check election results on their Blackberries, but at least it's a huge game for the Boston Green - one the Globe thinks might set the stage for the NBA finals.

The athlete most likely to vote in person...
Curt Schilling
He probably harasses voters in line about voting for McCain.
I wonder if Manny votes.
