Bostonist wholeheartedly believes in bribing rewarding our readers for participation in the democratic process, so here’s a list of food & drink freebies available to voters today:
Starbucks is giving out a free 12 oz (or “tall” in ‘bucks parlance) cup of coffee when you show them your “I voted!” sticker. No sticker? Just tell them you voted; they promise to believe you. (FYI, you know there’s a special hell reserved for people who lie about voting, right? Don’t do it.) On the off chance you don’t have a Starbucks within shouting distance, you can find locations here.
Ben & Jerry’s is offering a free scoop of their delicious Vermont-made ice cream between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Again, just tell them you voted. Find your nearest Ben & Jerry’s store here.
Local businesses are getting in on the act too. The Charles Hotel is offering a variety of Election Day treats. The bar, Noir, will be serving election-themed drinks and complimentary munchies to voters; restaurant Henrietta’s Table will give a free dessert to anyone with an “I voted!” sticker; and the hotel itself is offering a complimentary breakfast to guests who’ve voted.
Tonight, Bostonist favorite The Savant Project will give you a free tapas plate with a drink purchase and your proof of voting, and we hear that Clink in the Liberty Hotel will be giving out treats from Beacon Hill Chocolates.
There are also numerous Election Night parties around the city if you think you can comport yourself in public without threatening to harm yourself or your political opponents. Feel free to comment with any parties or freebies that we missed.
Vote early and nosh often, Bostonists!

FYI: You don't need proof of voting -- at least for Starbucks and Ben & Jerry's. There's a federal election law that prohibits free "I voted" promotions.
Go in and enjoy!
