-- Sting! 3 is the latest in the Beehive's series of art openings featuring work by local artists and music by local performers. Artists include James Stroud, Predrag Dimitrejevic, Jane D. Marsching, Susan Dory, David X. Levine, Fred Liang, Cristi Rinklin and Remi Thornton. Beatboxer Trihedral and the Coachmen perform. The Beehive, 541 Tremont St., 7 p.m. Free.

Dancing Hipsters

-- When Cosmo Baker was 16, he was already a legendary DJ in Philadelphia. A renowned beat digger, remixer, and amateur historian, Baker has rocked parties in every major city on the east coast. Best known for spinning hip hop (and throwing in a few rock records), Baker brings his funk and soul crates (or hard drive) to Soul Touch tonight. Middlesex Lounge, 315 Mass. Ave., 9 p.m. $5.

Outsiders

-- Local fixture BJ Snowden brings her unique fixations (Canada, Daisuke Matsuzaka) and unusual melodies to JP tonight. Midway Cafe, 3496 Washington St., Jamaica Plain, 9 p.m.
