The Canadians, almost as unaccustomed to this Bruins approach to winning as we are, were determined not to let the (now in FIRST PLACE) Boston Bruins swoop into the Bell Center and keep the good times rolling. So what did they do? They play the emotional card and schedule Patrick Roy Night, seeming to assume that the Canadians would never consider giving Roy a less-than-stellar tribute.
But the organizers failed to factor in our hockey team. By the time Montreal's Georges Laraque finally gave up trying to bait Milan Lucic and Tim Thomas endured another round of end-of-game shootouts, the B's had managed to fell their rivals, 3-2.
Since those who attended it are going to have a hard time remembering it today, it was all Harvard, all the time yesterday. Harvard blanked Yale, 10-0, which means the Crimson ties with Brown for the Ivy League title. Of course the game was not without controversy; with the clock winding down, the Crimson took control of the ball after a punt supposedly hit the leg of the Yale return player. Yale, of course, says it didn't touch the guy. We say Yale has a year to stew over it - we're still celebrating.
As for today, it's Pats/Dolphins time.
