OMG, says The Globe, have you heard that Facebook can ruin relationships? Apparently, the Internet has developed a new, frightening means by which many thousands of people have been rediscovering old acquaintances, some of whom they want to sex. These "social networking sites" also allow partners to snoop on one another and obsess over real and imagined infidelity, leading to emotional ruin. that is preposterous.
What's truly news is that for once, a Globe commenter wrote in something sensible in response:
" It's not Facebook that wrecked the relationship, it's having a sleazy boyfriend," writes MaureenM47. "In fact, she could say Facebook helped her -- without Facebook how long would it have taken to find out what he was really like?"
I agree, Ryan. Facebook doesn't make anyone cheat.
You can totally go into your privacy settings and uncheck the "Cheating" notifications. I hate those annoying pop-up "Would you like to cheat on your boyfriend now?"
