- If you spent your afternoon in a technology-free pre-Thanksgiving stupor, you may not yet know: terrorists have killed more than 80 people, wounded nearly 250 others, and taken hostages at two hotels (Taj and Oberoi) in Mumbai. The attacks were apparently targeted largely at Western tourists. [CNN, NYTimes]
- In comparison, Harvard freezing hiring, a Tom and Gisele Thanksgiving, and a house being demolished seem a little less important.

While I can appreciate the Harvard Hiring Freeze and Tom and Giselle ranking as "a little less important", I have to object to someone losing their home and everything in it, as being unworthy of our sympathy, empathy and attention on Thanksgiving. Your note above implies that because she's one vs. 100 she's to be ignored and shunned as newsworthy. The implications are staggering. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
i'm still going to say that more than 100 people dying, hundreds others being injured, and thousands more being in grave danger ranks above one person being move from a home that was putting HER in danger.
*moved
The scope of the events in India is greater than one woman's home. They shouldn't be compared in anyway.
But, it's possible to be sympathetic to both situations anyway.
That home was her life and it's gone. I hope that something can be salvaged from what was left after the house was demolished.
That you can't lump the loss of a home with "where was Tom Brady seen last" was pretty much my point.
