Sports Redux: The Champs Have Come. And Gone.

"We can beat anybody in this league and we can play against anybody, obviously," says Zdeno Chara. And who's going to argue with him? The Bruins finished off the Best November Ever by sending the Stanley Cup champ Red Wings home, as they've sent so many other teams home lately, sad and unfullfilled. So the month ends with the B's 11-1-1, picking up 23 out of a possible 26 points.

Blake Wheeler and Phil Kessel got on the board for the home team in the first, and Chuck Kobasew and David Krejci scored later for the 4-1 win. And Manny Fernandez, who's settling in nicely as the second goalie, did his job, saving 29 Red Wing shots. The B's re-tied New York for the top spot in the East, and will kick off December with a Florida trip later this week.

The Bobcats were one of the few NBA teams to figure out the Celtics at all last year (we still haven't forgotten you, either, Washington), and they gave the C's a little bit of trouble last night, getting out to a 22-17 first quarter lead. But the champs settled down, Paul Pierce found a little of the offense that he hasn't really needed for a few games, and the C's dusted off Charlotte 89-84. The Celts, then, also finished off a fine November, going 14-2 in the month. They'll be back tomorrow night against the Magic.

BC beat Maryland 28-21 to clinch themselves another ACC division title and another title game against Virginia Tech. If they win that, they could go to the Orange Bowl, which isn't played in the Orange Bowl anymore, but is still a pretty big deal.
