Jess: I agree. Plus I'm afraid that all the untethered SUV-sized baby carriages (GRRRRRRR) are going to rip my shins (even more) to shreds without a little seat buffer.

Kerry: I hope so! I can definitely appreciate the concept in terms of getting more bodies on the train, but it just doesn't seem that user-friendly -- unless there are lots of additional poles and straps to hold onto, too (besides the coat, arm, or backpack of the stranger next to you).

my understanding is the trains will have a mix of seatless and normal cars, so there will still be room for those who need to sit down.

so where does that plan leave elderly people, or people with mobility issues, or pregnant women who could probably use a seat? i don't get it, really.
