SNOWMERGENCY 2008: The Twittering

Well, it was inevitable. A Twitter group has been set up to tweet about today's (as-yet nonexistent) snow. If you're stuck in the house with nothing better to do, or if you're out and about and looking for updates, check the group for the latest snow scoop. Want to participate? Add #snow1219 to your twits—er, tweets. UHub has coined the phenomenon Snowtweeting. There are also Utterli and Flickr groups, as well as a snow poll for those who can't get enough snow-based internet action. That's a lot of stuff about very little snow (so far), and there have already been blog post cancellations to boot.

after tweeting about the pending #snowpocalypse, I received a reply re: snowpocalypse.com

Moving up here from the south I was told by numerous Boston natives how hardy New Englanders were and how they didn't close schools or work because of some snow. And how I was going to realize how easy i had it down south..

Then I get here and all I see is whining about a foot of snow. Heck, we used to get that in the mountains in NC all the time. Personally, I'm disappointed in yall. :P
