Sports Redux: Question, Mark

questionmark.jpgSo Bostonist was chatting up Gordon Edes, Tony Maz and Peter Gammons* on Friday and, as such, want to give you the straight scoop on this Mark Teixeira business: at some point, the highly hyped player is expected to play some sport (most likely baseball, those close to the negotiations have suggested) for an organization of professional status. It can be safely assumed that Teixeira will announce his team signing before Spring Training 2009, but that is still questionable. The single absolute certainty, however, is that agent Scott Boras is going to be able to fill a swimming pool with the dough he is going to be raking in.

You heard it here first, people. Don't forget that Bostonist loves you.

While everyone wonders what's going on Marky Tex's mind right now, the Celtics are making their agenda perfectly clear: winning, winning, winning. The Bulls were the latest team to fall to the Celts, who are now riding a 17-game winning streak. We are running out of adjectives to describe the play we've been seeing, so instead we've been pinching ourselves.

The details in the 126-108 victory: 27 points for Ray Allen, 25 for Kendrick Perkins, 17 for KG. Rajon Rondo only notched 4 points, but dished out 15 assists on the night.

*No, not really. But if they want to call us, we won't hang up! We're just sayin'.
