Dane Cook, Conned out of Millions

Dane-Cook-Vicious-Circle.jpg Dane Cook isn't necessarily one of our favorite comedians. Whether it's commercials, movie posters, comedy contests, or dog poop, we've found more than a few things to pick on him for over the years. Still, we don't completely begrudge the dude his success. If you can find a way to fool people into thinking you're funny, then capitalize on it continually, more power to you—and may your relatives not turn out to be asshats.

Cook's half-brother Darryl McCauley has allegedly stolen more than $10 million from Cook over the years while serving as the comedian's business manager. Apparently many important business decisions involved McCauley wiring money to himself and forging Cook's signature on checks. A lawsuit now separates the half-bros and fellow Arlington High School grads. The spigot began tightening when Cook decided to hire a Hollywood type as his new business manager in November; McCauley's failure to provide business records for the new manager raised some flags, and now it looks like the business manager making $150,000 a year was making off with a bit more than that. Will this be the end of Cook's career? Considering My Best Friend's Girl didn't make back its production budget in the US, Cook might have a bit of financial finagling to do.
