Thursday Happenings

Monkey_Business.jpg Hangovers

-- This Bostonist prefers the traditional southern New Year's meal of black eyed peas and greens, but it's an acquired taste. Then again, so is the bacon Bloody Mary, which the Savant Project will be doling out today as a part of its daylong Hangover Brunch. Also on the menu: soda with bitters, eggs and toast, soothing movies, and the often-overlooked low lighting. Savant Project, 1625 Tremont St., Mission Hill, 11 a.m. No cover charge.

Movies

-- For those less afflicted by veisalgia, the Brattle screens its annual Marx Brothers marathon starting at 12:30 p.m. Six classic Marx Brothers movies screen back-to-back; everything from The Cocoanuts to Duck Soup are in the projection booth. See one or see them all. (This Bostonist is going to catch Animal Crackers.) Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle St., Cambridge. Tickets and showtimes.
