2008 was a great year for Bostonist. We expanded our coverage, got some great new contributors, had lots of sassy posts and commentary, got our 15 minutes of fame on TV ( !! ), and most importantly had a lot of fun.
The Photo of the Day feature has been a dynamic and creative part of the site, and with 2009 the time has come for a new Photo of the Day editor to take the helm.
Your current editor was granted the post through a contest, and thus wants to continue the tradition.
Here's the rundown: Troll through Flickr, either in or out of the Bostonist group, and find two photos that you would post if YOU were the PotD editor. Send your chosen photos (links are fine) to korrileigh@bostonist.com and please include a few lines that you would run with the photo on the blog - why you chose it, what about it makes it stand out, etc. Finally, if you have any new ideas for the PotD feature or ways you'd like to change it, lets us know.
Please keep in mind that we try to run a PotD every day, so make sure you're ready for that commitment when submitting.
So, again:
1. Find some kick-ass photos
2. Write a few lines about 'em
3. Send them to korrileigh@bostonist.com
4. Tell us why you want the job
5. Get them in by next Monday, Jan 12.
We absolutely cannot wait to see what you all come up with, and are so excited to welcome a new member to the team.
