The Bostonist ship needs more hands on deck. If you'd like to cover Boston-related politics, TV, music, film, theatre, sports, or another hot local topic, we'd love to hear from you. Please send us a short (500 word maximum) writing sample in the area of your interest, and some information regarding your background--i.e., who are you and why do you want to write for us? (If you're not so into the writing, think about editing the Photo of the Day.)
We can only offer as much coverage as we have writers to provide, so we hope you'll join us in expanding the site's depth and breadth in 2009. Contributors will be expected to post at least once a week on an assigned or chosen topic relevant to Boston. Submissions from interested writers are due by January 31, 2009. All aboard, mateys.

You meant January 31, 2009, right? Do I get bonus points towards becoming a contributor for being observant? :-)
you're already our favorite contributor, mjg.
I have an idea. Since there are many, many places of higher education, also known as Colleges and Universities, in Boston, why doesn't Bostonist showcase an article a week from each of the surrounding school's publications? BU, Tufts, Suffolk, Emerson, Harvard, Northeastern, and so on -- all have great programs and newspapers.
