Peterborough St. Fire in Stop-Motion

Bostonist is still in shock because of yesterday's four alarm fire on Peterborough Street in the Fenway that wiped out an entire block of independent restaurants. The damage? Thornton's, Sorento's Italian Gourmet, Umi Japanese Restaurant, Greek Isles, Rod-Dee Thai Cuisine II, El Pelón Taqueria, and Bon cleaners, a dry cleaning shop. Firefighters say that the fire traveled quickly and horizontally through the strip of single-story businesses, spreading through the hazardous roof air conditioning units.

Bostonist reader MBSRules, who had set up his time lapse camera to catch a moonset, documented the blaze as it engulfed the block.

I'm very sad to see the demise of El Pelon, but...that's a pretty cool video.
