Today, an ad appeared on Craigslist for a two bedroom Mission Hill apartment priced at the bargain basement rent of $1,300, available for no fee. Too good to be true, right? It turns out that along with a parking space and "2 HUGE storage closets," the apartment comes complete with the chalk outline of a human body. Speculation on this Reddit thread has the apartment being the one involved in the May murder of a Northeastern student in the Parker Hill Apartments. But the building described in the Craigslist ad is a three unit condo, not a massive apartment complex. Was the unit a crime scene? Or just the hang-out for a couple of morbid MassArt students?
Edit: When contacted by email, the agent who listed the property (and who wishes to remain anonymous) said that there was no murder:
The tenants had tape on the floor as a joke. When I pulled it off, there were still marks on the floor. Once the rugs are steam cleaned, I expect it will go away.
