Bostonist can be bratty about the Globe, but we also like to face facts. The Globe is where we get our news, our links, and the inspiration for our snark. That is why we are alarmed that the Globe's newsroom will soon be down 50 staffers. That will mean that the Globe (and we) will run ever more AP stories about things that happen right here in Boston, and that can't be good for anybody. Meanwhile, NYT bigwig Arthur Sulzberger, Jr. is still pulling down $3,439,280 in total annual compensation while his media company rots in its massive, dead tree shell. And the debate continues: Who will pay for the news that we all consume like an Asian longhorned beetle in a Worcester front lawn when journalists no longer have newspaper jobs?
