Without any games on Friday night to distract us, Boston fans were left wondering what was going on down in Atlanta. All we knew at the time was that Jason Varitek and John Henry were going to meet and that it was Tek's idea.
So now what? We don't know. The meeting, Tek said, "went OK."
Great. Thanks.
So here's the deal: we have less than a month until pitchers and catchers are supposed to report. This should be the time when we start anticipating the return of baseball. But instead, we're wondering what on earth is going on in the mind of our catcher and front office brass as they play a game of contractual chicken.
Memo to Tek and John Henry: figure this out and settle it. Now, please. Cordially, Red Sox Nation.
