Martin Luther King Jr. Day Open House
10 am–4:45 pm, Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave, free admission
The Museum opens its doors on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to celebrate his legacy. Highlights include films, art activities, and performances. Dr. William Banfield, professor of Africana Studies, and members of BGKLS, The Berklee Faculty Music Ensemble, perform at 3:30 pm on January 19 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Open House Underwritten by the Citizens Bank Foundation.

11am–4pm, Children's Museum, Children’s Wharf, 300 Congress Street
Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy of equal rights all day long or with a 1pm performance by the Children's Inspirational Freedom Choir.

1pm, Boston University GSU Metcalf Hall, 775 Commonwealth Avenue (2nd floor), free
Medical anthropologist Paul Farmer, M.D., founder of Partners in Health, will speak about King's legacy. There will also be a reading from MLK's sermon "The Drum Major Instinct" and performances by BU's Inner Strength Gospel Choir and dance group Xception Step Team.

Boston Children's Chorus: His Vision, Our Voice
7pm, New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall
The Boston Children's Chorus, conducted by Anthony Trecek-King, will share the stage with nationally renowned guests, The Young People’s Chorus of New York City, conducted by Francisco J. Nuñez, as well as students from Project STEP and Boston Arts Academy.
Emmy Award winning actor Louis Gossett, Jr. hosts tonight's concert, which will be broadcast locally by WCVB-TV Channel 5.
