Inauguration Events in Boston

obama-change-poster.jpg Well, today's the big day. If you're not excited, some numbers might whet your appetite for change. Here's a roundup of things to do around town for the inauguration. (And at this point, it's shocking when an event doesn't involve special presidential drinks with cute names.)

Boston Magazine has a gallery of events and inauguration day deals, like 44-cent Inauguration Chowder at Legal Sea Foods and a $17 Inauguration Burger at Mr. Bartley's.

At 9pm, join the black tie inaugural ball featuring the Bo and Bill Winiker Orchestra. For more info, visit the website, or call 617-864-1933 for reservations.

I like the sound of this party...

6pm to 10pm
Obama Inaugural Ball, Bash and Celebration
at Cultural Exchange Center, Atlantic Works Bldg, 80 Border St, East Boston
FREE

They recommend that you bring a couple old shoes for the "shoe-throwing contest"!

There's going to be some jazz with Michael Carey (sax) & Todd Brunel (clarinet) and some acoustic party music from All of the Animals.

Bringing something for the potluck is encouraged.

The bummer -- "Please note: no alcohol can be consumed in this space."

snarky language comment follows:
arrivederci = a riveder ci
literally "until we see each other again"

the more proper term would be addio
"go with god"

cause I don't want to see his monkey butt again.
