Boston Blotter: Pedroia Brother Booked for Child Molestation

-- Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia's older brother was arrested last week in Woodland, California on charges of oral copulation and lewd acts with a child under 14. Brett Pedroia, 29, turned himself in to police. No further details have emerged about the case, and Dustin Pedroia has made no comment. [WCVB]

-- A 20-year-old Dorchester woman was arrested yesterday on charges that she was carrying an illegal gun in her Louis Vuitton bag. Or, as the BPD Bard puts it, "Gun in a Bag Puts Girl in the Can." [BPDNews]

-- Four Dorchester men with more firepower than brain power were arrested for allegedly holding up a food delivery driver whom they had summoned to their own house. [BPDNews]

-- John Connolly, former FBI agent and Whitey Bulger stooge, will have to appear before a Florida appeals court if he wants his November conviction for second degree murder overturned. Connolly's attorneys had argued that the conviction must be vacated because Florida had a four year statute of limitations on second degree murder at the time that the killing took place. Unfortunately, the attorneys filed their motion a month too late to do Connolly any good. Now broke, he will be represented on appeal by a public defender. [Herald]
