Milan Lucic, Manny Fernandez, Patrice Bergeron, Phil Kessel: they are Bruins we know, Bruins we love, Bruins who were part of a potentially devastating succession of injuries, illness or otherwise unanticipated twists of fate.
The Bruins, by and large, continued to do well, so the aforementioned men achieved Lost Boys status: we let them do their thing, work it out in their own time, and focused on the team instead. And this evening, our patience should be rewarded, as Milan Lucic is the first of those Lost Boys set to return to the ice. Considering that Boston is set to face off against the Capitals again tonight, we have to say that this news reflects some absolutely brilliant, wonderful timing.
Stephon Marbury is asserting that the Celtics reached a verbal agreement with him, but we're not convinced that he's telling the truth. How can anyone say anything to Marbury and have it be heard? Does one shout over his constant yammering and just hope for the best?
Finally, on the baseball front: Jason Varitek has until Saturday to let the Red Sox brass know if he's in for another season or two. It has reached a point where we honestly can't see what the holdup is (cough, cough, BORAS), so we would encourage Tek to make it official before the eleventh hour. Just sign and start rebuilding the bridge, Captain.
