While wine tasting dinners in Boston proper tend to start at 50 bucks then head into the stratosphere, Ashmont Grill in Dorcester has been serving up an affordable deal every Monday evening: $30 for dinner and wine pairings. Some have made the Monday Night Wine Club a weekly tradition, as evidenced by the photos in this post.

At the next event, which happens Monday, February 23, the comfort food hotspot will celebrate its100th wine dinner with a smashing dinner deal for $40. Why are we telling you this now? Because early reservations are a must (617-825-4300). Peep the menu after the jump.

While most Monday Club dinners center around wines from a particular region, the so-called “gala tasting” will “pay homage” to basically every region under the sun, including wines from France, Italy, the U.S. and Spain. The menu is as follows:

Course One, France
Loire Valley’s J.F.Merieau Cremant
Oysters with Mignonette

Course Two, Italy
Piedmont’s Elio Grasso Nebbiolo
Lobster Risotto

Course Three, USA
Mendocino’s Edmeades Zinfandel
Roasted Lamb

Course Four, Spain
Pedro Ymenez Sherry
Chocolate Tartlet with Saffron Ice Cream

If you’re a Wine Club newbie, you can test the waters next Monday, when the restaurant will be highlighting Chilean vinos. See www.ashmontgrill.com for more info.
