Shepard Fairey is everywhere (even here). He’s going to be in the Institute of Contemporary Art, and his paintings have played a role in advocating for change. But seeing his work on a T-shirt, in a gallery or on a poster does him no justice.
Fairey, originally a street artist, has been wheat pasting his way through Boston. His vibrant red, black and white political posters have taken up residence in Chinatown, Cambridge, and Fenway knock your socks off when you see them in person. His collages of Andréa the Giant swirl in front of your eyes, and his women in headscarves stare you down and dare you to challenge their desire for peace. Here is a little map of where some of his current pieces reside, but see them quickly because, like all street art, they have a limited shelf life.

Week Around the Ists, Sad Panda Edition: November 15–21

"because, like all street art, they have a limited shelf life" - That's not the case with our Shepard Fairey piece. He came late last year to do it with the owner of the buildings full approval.
