Passion Pit

Middle East Downstairs

Screw roaring fires and hot cocoa. Those are old-fashioned ways to get warm on a cold night. Instead, head over to the Middle East downstairs tonight and rub up against hundreds of crazed fans for Passion Pit's last Boston appearance before a European tour. These dudes just blew up; their brand of electro-pop has captured audiences worldwide, first after signing to indie label Frenchkiss records, then to Colombia for their UK distribution. Passion Pit is doing Boston proud, yes sir. The lead sample in single "Sleepyhead" is serpentine and infectious, meandering through the song and straight to your brain. (It burrows; expect it to last the winter.) "Cuddle Fuddle" is as adorable as the title implies, and "Better Things" is all video game bloops and bouncing synths It's going to be a party, so try to catch them while they're still considered local.
