The Barbara Lee Auditorium holds 375 (including the extra first row of chair brought in as "Reserved". I too was dismayed that the stage filled immediately after the curtain lifted. Still I was very impressed at the proportion of people who chose to stay to have something signed by Shepard Fairey (pretty close to 40-50% of all in attendance).

Anyone notice the 700 or so "docents" with constantly chattering walkie-talkies? Or how, when the curtain lifted at the end of the talk, the stage was filled with snaked crowd-control barriers for the book signing? Obey, people.
