In Boston on Saturday the 14th unless otherwise noted:
A window display at Cambridge trinket shop Joie de Vivre.
Beer: Cambridge Common's beer dinners are, in Bostonist's experience, delicious pairings of beer and dinner, and this year's Bierria Le Baladin Dinner will be no different. Mussels in Baladin Nora Ale broth! (1667 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, 5 pm to 7 pm. Reservations: 617-547-1228.)
Meat: Savenor's will deliver a Valentine's dinner for two non-vegetarians: salad, rolls, potato gratin, the obligatory chocolate cake, and a pair of heart-shaped prime tenderloins. (See the PDF menu, and order by Thursday. $75. 617-723-MEAT in Boston and 617-576-MEAT in Cambridge.)
Port, Chocolate: When Brix hands out samples, they're handed out in good stemware by knowledgeable people. On Valentine's Day, their South End shop promises "decadent chocolates" to help you try out ruby, tawny, and vintage ports. (1284 Washington St., 6 pm to 8 pm. Free!)
Breast, Thigh: The Boston Babydolls will present a burlesque "theatrical performance" while you consume barbeque from Blue Ribbon at the Arlington Center for the Arts. The show is called "Unlucky In Love," and we're guessing that you'll enjoy it even if you are. (41 Foster St., Arlington, tonight through Saturday night at 8 pm. $13-$35.)
Art, Delayed Gratification: The Museum of Fine Arts is offering a $10 gift shop coupon to if you're among the first hundred visitors to buy a pair of tickets to the upcoming "Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese" exhibition in person on Valentine's Day. The downside: the Renaissance art binge doesn't actually open until the Ides of March. (West Wing Entrance Box Office, 465 Huntington Avenue, starting at 10 am.)
