Sports Redux: Eagle Eye

eagle eye.jpg Scott Clemmensen. Scott, Scott, Scott-Scott, Scott. How quickly we forget. We were happy as you and your crop of BC Eagles took home that national title in 2001. And now, here we are, seeing what it's like when you're guarding that opposing net. You've gone and grown up on us. We'd be proud if we weren't so annoyed that the Bruins lost last night.

Clemmensen recorded his second shutout in a row on Friday as the Devils blanked the B's, 1-0, during play down in Jersey. While the Bruins outshot the Devils nearly 2-to-1 over the course of the game, it was a Bryce Salvador shot in the second that proved to be the gamewinner. Bruins goalie Tim Thomas stopped almost everything that came his way; Clemmensen stopped absolutely everything that came his way. There's your difference.

The Bruins continue their roadtrip with tonight's 8 p.m. matchup against Nashville.

The Celtics are on hiatus, what with the All-Star break this weekend. If you needed another reason to like Paul Pierce, read on here.
