Boston Blotter: Suspects Nabbed in Year's First Murder, Arson a JP Thing

-- Boston police arrested two Dorchester men for the January 7 shooting on Stanwood Street that left one dead and one hospitalized. Trevon Mason, 22, and Daryl Pullen, 21, were indicted on charges of murder and assault. [BPDNews]

-- We reported in early January on the fire that destroyed repeat arson target Maria's Hair Fashions on South Street in Jamaica Plain. The JP Gazette has more. According to the paper, the hair salon was a part of a series of arson attacks undertaken by the same means: burning car tires. Police would not confirm it, but the paper links three late night house fires to the possible arson at Maria's Hair Fashions. Chilling news for a neighborhood seemingly beset by arsonists. -- The robbers of Boston's food delivery drivers haven't yet figured out that summoning a victim to your own house is a fairly efficient means of self-incrimination. Saturday afternoon, police arrested a 19-year-old Boston man for allegedly doing just that. [BPDNews]

-- Police arrived just in time to miss a massive melee at Chinatown's Chau Chow restaurant early Saturday morning. At least four people suffered stab wounds during the fracas. [BPDNews]

-- A carjacking in Roxbury allegedly led to a police chase down I-93 that ended in Milton. [BPDNews]

-- Things got stabby in a Mattapan parking lot Saturday night when an argument led to a non-life-threatening knife wound. Police arrested a suspect in the case. [BPDNews]

All charges alleged until proven under law.
