Drinking in Boston: Beer! It's What's for Dinner.

beerfordinnersmall.jpg The dinner bell’s a-ringin’! If you’re feeling a mite peckish and thirsty on top of that, try a few of these beer dinners coming up.

The UltiMAte Beer Dinner presented by the Massachusetts Brewers Guild takes place on Saturday February 28th. On top of a four-course meal with beer pairings you would have the opportunity to meet and greet with brewery owners and brewmasters. There is also a beer sampling with the hors d’ouevres. At $125 it can seem a steep price to pay, but considering there will be 13 different Massachusetts breweries there, each bringing their best beers and their limited release beers with them, it’s well worth the price.

Cambridge Common Restaurant has released its schedule of beer dinners for 2009. Next up is the Long Trail Brewing Company Brewer’s Dinner on March 10th. Every dinner includes a welcome beer plus a four course meal, each course accompanied by a complimentary beer. For $39, that’s a lot of food and drink. Cambridge Common holds these dinners every few weeks (Peak Organic, Brooklyn, and Dogfish Head are all coming up soon) so check out their website for a full schedule.

Cambridge Brewing Company has recently announced the menu for the Brewer’s Dinner coming up on March 14th. Again, diners are welcomed with a starter brew (in this case a barleywine) and are then treated to four courses. Every menu choice looks delicious and it’s hard to decide upon your choices: by the dish or by the beer accompanying it.

Lastly, though not a dinner, we mustn’t forget that St. Patty’s Day is rapidly approaching. Harpoon is hosting their annual bash this year on the 6th and 7th of March. See their website for more details.
