Hollywood auteur Richard Quine might have overseen the birth of the modern sex farce. His films The Notorious Landlady (1962) and Operation Mad Ball (1957) each featured performances by Jack Lemmon and scripts by Blake Edwards, who would soon be the masters of the genre. Do the kids still like Music Tapes? Bostonist grows more out of touch with each passing year, but we can still remember when Neutral Milk Hotel disappeared and former member Julian Koster's freak folk side project got the people in the tapered jeans to nod their heads.
