Globe vs. Herald over Deval Patrick

Deval_1.jpg Joan Venocchi's column appears on the Opinion/Editorial page in today's Globe. Why does it read, in parts, like a favorable book review for the book that Governor Deval Patrick hasn't even written yet? Deval Patrick comes across as a hero facing a horde of villains, most of them Republican.

While the Globe seems to want to give Patrick a pass, we can always trust in Howie Carr not to pass up the chance to take on the Governor. Howie refers to the looming toll increase as a "rip-off" after a rip-off of a headline. Then he delivers some predictable outrage on the gas tax, drops a hackerama on us and even maligns Patrick's work ethic.

Patrick is Jason to Howie Carr. He's the living embodiment of John McLane from Die Hard if you read Joan Venocchi.

He's somewhere in between, isn't he?
