Sports Redux: C is for Crisis

crutches.jpg One of the strengths of our current Celtics lineup has been resiliency. When one guy goes down for a few games, another steps up. When the Big Three has an off night, the Little Nine are ready to go.

But when five - count 'em - five Celtics are down for the count, as is the case for tomorrow's game in Miami, it's natural to switch into crisis mode. There's no Kevin Garnett, no Tony Allen, no Big Baby Davis, no Rajon Rondo, no Brian Scalabrine. This is going to be a very telling time for this current Celtics organization. If they can weather the storm, we pity anyone left on the Cs schedule once these guys come back.

In baseball news, Jon Lester seems not to know if he just signed a contract that would earn him some serious bank. We understand being focused on pitching and all, but c'mon, Jon. Call your agent. And for those who can't wait for their baseball team to get back north and start playing games that count, it's time to switch over to the World Baseball Classic. Our boy Youk is starting to make some jaws drop.
