Still from Kung Fu Master courtesy HFA.
Agnès Varda, Jane Birkin (and daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg), and pedophilia: What's not to love? Birkin, whose longtime beau Serge Gainsbourg had a thing about younger girls, turns the tables in Kung Fu Master (1987) when she falls in love with her teenage daughter's male friend (played by Varda's son!). It's creepy and French, and it concludes the HFA's Varda restrospective. Screening with Vagabond (1985). Harvard Film Archive, Carpenter Center, 24 Quincy St., Cambridge. 7 p.m. $10.
