We're a bit late for evacuation day proper but we wanted to wait until Film Friday for this shot by light under a bushel. This black & white has a real feeling of history to it. The Union Jack being flown from a stick begs us to ask the question of who put it there and why. I think this photo is a great glimpse back into our history.

Week Around the Ists, Sad Panda Edition: November 15–21

So does Film Friday mean that film can be PotD ONLY on Friday?
You wonder why someone put a British flag at the grave of a fallen British soldier? Hmmm...
Film images can be PotD any day of the week. Unfortunately we have a limited numbers of film shooters contributing to the pool and I want to make sure we always have good pics for Film Fridays. The more film contributions we get on Flickr, the more film shots will probably make PotD so keep'em coming!
Tbobtubb, It's clearly a new flag on what appears to be a stick. Why was it done that way? Who took the time out of their day to remember this fallen soldier from over 2oo years ago? This photo makes me ask a number of these questions which is why I like it.

A very reasonable explanation. :) And I agree, the stick-flag is interesting.
