The men of BC basketball took a big hit on Friday night that left everyone reeling. The Eagles fell victim to a first round NCAA tourney upset when those Trojans of USC plowed their way to a 72-55 victory. With the loss, BC became the latest team to fall to the Trojans, who have been busy proving to everyone that they deserve to be in the big dance.
In the pro scene, KG made his return to the Celts lineup on Friday, and just in time for a showdown against the Spurs. KG scored 10 points in 15 minutes of play, so we're liking those kinds of numbers. We do admit, however, that we should be sending San Antonio's Tony Parker a Boston gift basket today, given the way he blew four foul shots late in the game - allowing us to beat his team 80-77.
On the Bs side, those of you who packed into the Garden on Thursday night for that loss to the Kings really should have just gone to practice the next day instead. It turns out that the scrimmage the Bs played on Friday was better than Thursday's game. Coach Claude Julien is continuing to try to get his guys into gear, holding a rare Saturday practice today. We're getting frustrated with the Bs, so we're hoping that the practice went something like this.
