Sports Redux: What Will Justin Do Edition

One of the few remaining questions for the Red Sox is what role Justin Masterson will fill. Will he start or pitch in relief? He's working as a starter now and completed 4.2 innings with six strikeouts on Thursday. Masterson's fate may depend on Brad Penny. If Penny is ready, Masterson should head for the bullpen.

You could be the lucky winner of two Opening Day tickets to any city thanks to the MLB. Well, what are you waiting for? You have to enter by Monday. If you are fortunate enough to go to Opening Day, you'll be welcomed by the same food prices as 2008.

Basketball happened last night in Boston. Twice. It will happen again Saturday. There really is a local connection, too. Duke's coach Mike Krzyzweski (just wanted to type Krzyzewski) will tell you Gerald Henderson Jr. is former Celtic Gerald Henderson's son.

Speaking of the Bill Fitch era, yesterday was a significant day to remember for Larry Joe Bird. Thirty years ago yesterday was the day Larry met Magic.

Two former Red Sox pitchers, both of whom helped accomplish something in 2004 Bostonist won't ever forget, are on different career paths. Pedro Martinez is not signed for 2009 and may have to take a pay cut to join the Kansas City Royals. Yes, those Kansas City Royals. Also, Derek Lowe continues to throw well for his new team, the Atlanta Braves, and could be the opening day starter. Lowe's spring ERA is 3.27.

The Celtics visit Atlanta tonight. KG took the time to defend Stephon Marbury. Doc Rivers said KG might start playing more. Orlando is thrilled, Doc. The Bruins still exist after hibernating since Sunday. They'll play an actual game Saturday.
