Sports Redux: Sidelined

davis.jpg Things are looking good in the sports world today, but they could always be better. And we're not saying that in the stereotypical Boston sports fan sort of way. This isn't us making up scenarios. In the cases of both the Celts and Bruins, there's good news and there's sidelined news.

The good news from the Celtics front is that the team buckled down and got back into the groove of stepping up when someone else in the lineup is forced to step down. In Friday night's 99-93 victory over Atlanta, it was Glen Davis who earned the night's accolades. While Kevin Garnett was out again (right knee soreness), Big Baby was everywhere, ratcheting up a total of 19 points and 12 rebounds on the night. Ray Allen scored a team-high 22 points and there was ample support off the bench.

On the Bruins side, it's Phil Kessel who is sidelined. Kessel is not with the team for their weekend games in Toronto and Philadelphia. The team has had some time to relax and bask in the glory of that win against the Devils, but now it's back to basics.

And, finally, meet your Sox starting rotation! Josh Beckett, Jon Lester, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Tim Wakefield and a pitcher to be named later are going to be working the rotation come a week from Monday (so close!).
