Urban health: How shaping our built environment shapes ourselves
with Russ Lopez
LivableStreets (100 Sidney Street, Cambridge)
7:00 - 9:00 pm tonight

Intersections and supermarkets make you less likely to be obese; the more time you spend in a car, the more likely you are to be fat. These and other hot tips on urban health will be revealed tonight at a LivableStreets talk by Russ Lopez. Lopez holds a Master of City and Regional Planning degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a doctorate in Environmental Health from the Boston University School of Public Health, and has worked for the City of Boston on housing, community development and environmental concerns. Currently an assistant professor at BU's School of Public Health, Lopez edited Urban Health: Readings in the Social, Built, and Physical Environments of U.S. Cities. His talk tonight should be a fascinating look at how our environment shapes our bodies.
