Boston Blotter: Public Garden Duckling on its Way to Becoming Crack Rock

-- Boston police report that one of the cute bronze ducklings from the public art work Make Way for Ducklings has disappeared from the Public Garden. The duckling, named Pack, was the second-to-last of the ducklings, and might have already entered the scrap metal market. [BPDNews]

-- A Jamaica Plain man was beaten by a group of thugs March 13 in what might have been a gang initiation. The beating took place during dusk on Carolina Avenue, a few blocks from the Green Street T station. When asked if the beating was a hate crime, the victim, who is gay, retorted, "I don't think so.
