Bostonist would like to extend two big thumbs up to Nate Lusk, a Beacon Hill resident who (allegedly) chased down an (alleged) attempted burglar and aided police in the capture.
In a fine display of extreme bad-assery, Lusk dialed 911 and had the following awesome conversation:
"I said, 'I'm on Clarendon and Marlborough . . . Clarendon and Comm. Ave.,' and the dispatcher said, 'Why are you moving?' and I said, 'I'm chasing him,' and she said, 'You're doing what?' "
Throwing caution to the wind, Lusk ran down the (alleged) douchebag, motivated by the impact break-ins can have in an already troubled economy. Lusk then rescued a litter of kittens from a burning building and restored "Pack," the missing Public Garden duckling. Probably.
The Globe reports that the captured man is a Brookline resident who appeared to be wearing an ankle bracelet. Bostonist would like to remain objective in this situation and state that all persons are innocent until proven guilty, and further we would like to persuade readers to practice safety first and refrain from enacting their own brands of vigilante justice. We would like to do all those things, however we are hampered by the fact that we have been robbed multiple times in the past few months by some shady asshole(s) breaking into apartments around Brookline. Therefore, we will cheerfully throw objectivity out the window and express our fervent hope that this man turns out to be the burglar terrorizing Brookline, and that buried somewhere in his home are all the laptops, cameras, and jewelry we're missing.
