Did you happen to walk by the State House today and notice a bunch of Gadsden flags and people in tri-corner hats? The Common hosted a thousand or so variously-clad protesters this afternoon as part of a nationwide protest movement of "Tax Day Tea Parties" scheduled for April 15th. Bostonist was there with camera in hand surveying the scene.

Everyone else-- you might have missed the news, but you all got tax cuts and rebates from Uncle Obama and are taxed less than you were under Bush. So you're all about 5 months late in your protest.
A small percentage of citizens like having to pay taxes. An even smaller amount likes the idea of bailing out under performing companies - AIG, big banks, brokers - run by overpaid executives. So, on some level, everyone gets the outrage expressed by the Tea Party protestors.
But, judging from all of the signs shown on TV that had sayings like "Keep the Change," I think it's a safe assumption that a lot of the Tea Partygoers are really just protesting president Obama.
Oh, and Cody Willard.....Please calm the fuck down! I saw this clip on FNC, too, so it's not a liberal plot.
I hope someone explained to the dudes dressed as colonials about the whole "representation" part...
