'40 Years of Silence' screens at BIFF tonight at 6pm
The Boston International Film Festival has a ton of offerings in its 6 sessions today and you should definitely look them all over. One of them, in Session 37, caught our eye as it is edited by two-time Academy Award® winner Pietro Scalia (“JFK,” “Black Hawk Down”): 40 Years of Silence: An Indonesian Tragedy, which screens at 6pm.

The film is feature-length documentary about one of the largest unknown mass-killings of the 20th century. The documentary focuses on how children deal with severe trauma caused by the death, imprisonment and disappearance of close family members.

There will be a Q&A with director/producer and renowned anthropologist Dr. Robert Lemelson immediately following the screening. Those interested in attending the screening can receive two tickets for the price of one by bringing the BIFF 40 Years of Silence: An Indonesian Tragedy flyer to the box office. Ticket stubs also provide free admission to Mojitos Lounge (48 Winter Street) after the film, from 9pm to 10pm.
