--MBTA Transit Police of the Area 5 Wellington unit made a routine stop to ticket a man seen smoking in the bus way that turned out more complicated. The smoker is allegedly a "quasi-homeless" unregistered Level 2 sex offender who has warrants for other crimes issued by the Lowell and Somerville District courts. [ WickedLocal]
--Condemned triple murderer Gary Lee Sampson will receive a hearing Tuesday because his lawyers are demanding prosecution files they say will help draft a planned new complaint that alleges he didn't get a fair trial. Sampson confessed to killing three people in 2001. The victims' families are not happy with this hearing. [Boston Globe]
--Victor Rios of Northampton was sentenced to six to eight years in prison and five years probation for pushing a woman out a second-story window. Rios plead guilty to four different charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The prosecutors said Rios choked the victim, held a knife to her throat, and cut her hair before pushing her out of her apartment window. [WCVB]
--Two apparently (yes) intoxicated Red Sox fans were arrested after Sunday's game. The men refused to leave so Fenway security called the police. The men resisted arrest and swore at the police. [Boston Herald]
