RajRem has an intriguing photo for today. With clouds of smoke rising up from the stacks this could be the intro scene to a sci-fi movie that begins with man destroying the earth. The interesting combination of black & white, and processed colors lends weight to the sci-fi feeling, and the strong clouds add depth to the sky.

Destroying our habitat is not the same thing as destroying the earth. I love how human beings can still be so self-centered even when advocating ostensibly larger causes. The earth survived Krakatoa's several eruptions, the asteroid strike that killed the dinos, etc etc, it can survive the worst of global warming. Human habitats, on the other hand...
