--For the third time in recent weeks, Quincy police have arrested people on drug charges who allegedly brought their children to apparent drug deals. On Thursday, a 21-year old Hyde Park woman brought her 4-week-old baby boy with her while making an alleged heroin delivery. Police allege the suspect admitted to having heroin hidden in her underwear when officers confronted her. The woman and a man who accompanied her were both charged with heroin trafficking. The baby was taken to Quincy Medical Center and police notified the state Department of Families and Children. Men allegedly selling cocaine, in March, and OxyContin, in April, brought young children with them. [Patriot Ledger]
--Somerville Police stopped a black 1996 Honda Civic with no headlights or taillights on, and arrested the driver and the passenger and charged them with possession of burglarious instruments and larceny of a motor vehicle. The driver was also charged with driving without a license and a motor vehicle lights violation. The driver, according to the police report, was allegedly cooperative, and polite. He allegedly said "I’m sorry officer I never did this before. This is not my car. I just found it running and wanted to go for a joyride. This is my first time in cuffs. I know why you arrested me. My windshield wipers were not on. I just found the vehicle running on Mystic Avenue." The police reportedly found the ignition hanging down and found a screwdriver, crowbar, flashlight and knife. --Joshua Whipple was sentenced to up to 20 years in prison after he broke into a 59-year-old disabled woman’s home and sexually assaulted her in 2008. Whipple, 19, also faces 10 years probation after he pled guilty to assault and battery on a disabled person causing bodily injury and other charges. [WCVB]
--A masked robber with a machete ambushed a pizza delivery guy in Somerville by prank calling in a request for a pizza, Somerville Police said. The pizza guy scared off the suspect by "clenching his fists". The pizza was delivered to the address from the prank call, a woman at the address said she didn't order it, the pizza guy called his pizza boss and the machete man in a white ski mask struck to get the pizza guy's cash. The suspect is described as a man about five-feet nine-inches with a medium build who was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white ski mask. [WickedLocal.com]
