"Remembering Jeanne Connolly - A Celebration"
TT the Bear's Place, 10 Brookline St, Cambridge
Sunday, May 3, 2pm
FREE / 21+

Whether you feel like indoor or outdoor fun on Sunday, Cambridge has plenty of free music to offer.

A variety of performers play down the street for the crowds at Harvard Square Mayfair with little fear of fiery manholes. Harvard alumni-turned-popsters Chester French are the headliners, and every other band is better in this Bostonist's opinion.

At the same time, there's this special free show where so many incredible people are doing short acoustic sets. TT the Bear's Place deserves kudos for occasionally hosting free shows throughout the year, but tomorrow everyone is playing in tribute to Jeanne, a longtime TT's employee who died from cancer in February who meant so much more to so many.

Dozens of top local musicians will hit the stage -- from members of classic Boston bands (Scarce, The Shods, Talking To Animals, etc) to this year's Rumble finalists (The Dirty Truckers and winners The Luxury who play before their Mayfair gig).

As booker Randi Millman told Jim Sullivan, "We want to raise a glass, have a laugh, and share some music in her honor... music, friends, food and laughs... exactly what Jeanne would want."

We didn't have a special connection with Jeanne and would only exchange the usual brief pleasantries between beers. However others have expressed the beauty of Jeanne (e.g. Boston Globe, Kay Hanley, The Noiseboard).

The tentative schedule:

2:10pm -- Andrea Gillis
2:20pm -- Ad Frank
2:30pm -- Juliana Nash & Greg Porter (Talking To Animals)
2:40pm -- Members of The Luxury
2:50pm -- Pete Cassani of The Peasants
3:00pm -- Eric Doberman
3:10pm -- Remembrances from some of Jeanne's friends
3:20pm -- Joyce Raskin & Chick Graning (Scarce)
3:30pm -- Dave Aaronoff & Kevin Stevenson (The Shods)
3:40pm -- Shaun Wortis
3:50pm -- Members of The Dirty Truckers
4:00pm -- Wide Iris
4:10pm -- Kevin Patey & Amy Griffin (The Raging Teens)
4:20pm -- Bo Barringer
4:30pm -- JJ Rassler & Jen D'Angora (The Downbeat 5)
4:40pm -- Thalia Zedek

It's free, but there's probably going to be chance to donate to a Cambridge Rindge & Latin scholarship fund in Jeanne's memory; so drop a few bucks in the basket.
