Love Potion, #99?

A new twist in the Manny saga!

A source close to the suspended slugger says that the banned substance for which he tested positive wasn't steroid-related at all, but a sexual enhancer.

Manny, never saddled with the public image of a MENSA member, may have gotten the wrong idea about performance-enhancing, or perhaps was told by some shady character that the drug would give him a home run every time. The banned substance was not Viagra (which is a valued sponsor of Major League Baseball), the source insists. Our curiousity, if nothing else, is aroused.

So, you're saying that the drug can only be used to hit certain kinds of home runs.

this is the manniest day ever

You still have to get good wood on the ball.

ESPN says that it was "HCG -- human chorionic gonadotropin. HCG is a women's fertility drug typically used by steroid users to restart their body's natural testosterone production as they come off a steroid cycle. It is similar to Clomid, the drug Bonds, Giambi and others used as clients of BALCO."

They were on clomid? Oh my god, no wonder Bonds was so cranky and Giambi was so weepy!
